Recently relocated from Manhattan, where she taught classics at The Chapin School for eight years, Beatrice Cody knew at thirteen that she wanted to be a classicist. With an extensive academic background and experience with field archaeology, Beatrice lives the dictum that a teacher ought know more about a subject than she teaches.

Seventh and eighth grade students study high school Latin in addition to Spanish or French. Their work in Latin enhances their work in those other languages and in their study of English language and grammar. It also pays dividends as they tackle major standardized tests, such as the SSAT and SAT.
