In this drawing project students were asked to use a U-shaped line to turn a scribble line into an Op-Art work. By using a curved line to define the space the flat areas rose and fell to create the illusion of roundness and movement.
Art
The middle school fine arts curriculum promotes the creative, expressive, intellectual and communicative abilities of each child. Our art program is designed to provide hands-on experiences using a variety of art materials. The students acquire the basic vocabulary of art and design while working on independent and collaborative projects. Many of our projects are chosen to coordinate with the social studies, science and language arts programs. This curriculum also brings the traditions and histories of art from many different cultures into the classroom. In the upper grades, we encourage our students to develop their own style with more independent work.
